World of Owls Sanctuary

All Year 8 enjoyed a visit from the World of Owls sanctuary, Randalstown on Monday 06 November as part of the Yr8 Science focus week. The ‘Amazing Animal Roadshow’ included a discussion about the adaptations of this bird of prey for survival alongside the chance to observe  a wide range of other animal groups including invertebrates and reptiles.

Women in Engineering

Twelve of our senior girls were willing participants in a ‘Women in Engineering’ site visit to E & I Engineering at Burnfoot, Co.Donegal. First was a presentation in the boardroom, for an overview of the many roles and opportunities offered in the business. Then came a site visit to both the ‘Powerbar’ and ‘Switchgear’ floors – a remarkable workplace.

Junior Badminton Cup

Massive congratulations to Kyle who defended his Junior Badminton Cup at the Champion of Champions event in Lisburn. Kyle has won this event for 5 years in a row.

A special mention has to go to Ellie, Emma and Robert who all played very well. Robert made it to the Semi-Final, a tremendous achievement considering he was playing against Year 10 pupils within the Minor event.
