As a follow up to the Letterkenny Roadsafe Roadshow, Stephen Savage from New Driver NI delivered an informative presentation to our Y13 pupils on road safety. Statistics, anecdotes and a handy magazine full of top tips for young drivers reinforced the cautionary messages, on the importance of driving responsibly, from last week.
Year 13 pupils travelled to Aura Leisure Centre, Letterkenny, for the annual Roadsafe Roadshow. Pupils heard first-hand accounts of the repercussions of a road traffic accident for victims, families and the various agencies who attend the scene. During the sobering experience, professionals from the PSNI, An Garda Síochána and the National Ambulance Service recounted traumatic scenes they have witnessed within their roles. In addition, road traffic accident victims and their families gave honest accounts of how their lives changed in the aftermath of a single car accident.
Our thanks to Stuart Crutchley, Road Policing Education Officer, for continuing to facilitate this important Roadshow for our pupils.
