ILEX, the urban regeneration company, in conjunction with Foyle Learning Community, is undertaking an online Digital Survey of school children between 11 and 18 years to determine the access pupils have to digital media. It’s important that all secondary schools in the Derry City Council area take part in this online survey.
Pupils from each participating school will be entered into a draw and one person from each participating school will win a Microsoft Surface Tablet & Keyboard. The survey closes on Friday 13th December 2013.

To coincide with the Turner Prize and as part of the City of Culture 2013 year, CCEA decided to select a small number of recent A level work from across the country to display at the Void Gallery.
We are rightly proud that three of our talented students, Inge Swiegers, Joanne Struthers (both Yr.13) and Richard Magee (Yr.14) all had pieces selected and were recognised for both their innovative approach and the thoughtful concepts behind their artwork. Worth noting that no other school in the country achieved more than this success.
Joanne Struthers followed this up with further success when she claimed 1st prize in the ‘Positive Mental Health’ Photography Competition (U18 section) which was part of World Mental Health Day. Along with Joanne, Laura McElhinney(Yr.13) and Cody Chambers(Yr.12) had their entries selected to be part of the Western Health Trust 2014 Calendar.
Congratulations on a job very well done.
With funding from the Sorrell Foundation Jordan Finlay, Louise Hulleman and Sara Douglas(all Yr.12) were, along with some other local GCSE students, chosen to take part in a Saturday Art and Design Club at the North West Regional College. As part of this course they are having master classes with various leading professional artists and designers. Also, they recently went on a trip to London to visit the Tate Modern Art Gallery and to see a piece of their own work exhibited at Somerset House, along with work from some other young people from across Britain.
