Poetry in Motion Celebration

Today, Joanne and Denise recorded a selection of the nature poems pupils from 10E produced during their poetry workshops during term one.

A special well done to our recorded poets: Luke Bradley, Brooke Campbell, Belle Stevenson, Christian McGowan, Leah Connolly, John Aquitania, Aodhan McGilloway, Dominic McKay, Amber January, Ben Crumley, Mateusz Iwaniuk and Simon Wylie.

The pupils' successes will be showcased at the Poetry in Motion Celebration Event in the Ulster Hall on 12th March

Project Business 2019

Project Business provides a dynamic experience for Year 10 students as they take on the role of a small business for the day.  In addition to gaining an insight into enterprise, pupils are given an introduction to GCSE Business Studies, prior to making their subject choices.  The pupils explored a range of key business concepts through a variety of practical group-based activities, such as setting up their own bead making business.  The pupils had to buy materials from their suppliers and create beaded bracelets to sell to customers.  The pupils also learnt about health and safety in the work place and quality control.

Year 11 Examinations February 2019

Report to the assembly hall at the time shown in the first column for each exam – 8:50 for the morning session, 11:25 for the midday session and 1:30for the afternoon session. Any gap between this time and the start of the exam can be spent preparing and revising. Pupils entitled to extra time will be given this through added time at the start and end of the sessions. Art & Design and Music exams will be in their respective classrooms.

If you do not have an exam in a particular session, then you may revise at home. If you choose to prepare in school, then you are to use the study hall or library for revision when there is a gap in your schedule. You must sign out, at the office, if you are going home after an exam. Full school uniform is to be worn on any occasion when you are in school.

You must plan to be present for all of your papers – the real GCSE exams have very strict rules regarding this and we are trying to make our school exams as realistic as possible. If you are ill and unable to attend, you should contact the school as early as possible.
