KS2/3 Differentiation Training

Thank you to Eileen Rowntree, EA Advisory Teacher, who delivered comprehensive cross-phase training on differentiation strategies today.Eileen helped lead professional dialogues, introduce practical strategies and equip teachers with a bank of resources to embed within their lessons.



The Lyric Theatre, in conjunction with the Department of Justice NI, presented ‘Blackout’ to our Year 12 pupils this afternoon.

Written by Davey Anderson, the play tells the story of James, a young man from a dysfunctional family. The death of his grandfather results in James’ dabbling in drugs and alcohol – a path which leads him to court and a possible custodial sentence.

With an atmospheric soundtrack by Chris Warner and physical theatre sequences, this high-energy production was followed by a Q&A with a panel of young people with first-hand experience of custody and the judicial system.

A truly moving, hard-hitting production that will leave a lasting impression upon our pupils.

Marshmallow Challenge

An exciting morning for our Y13 pupils during PSHE, developing pupils' teamwork skills and personal capabilities.Pupils took part in the Marshmallow Challenge, aiming to build the tallest tower possible using marshmallows and spaghetti.The moral of today's lesson - the importance of building strong foundations for life during school years!

Congratulations to Mr Nutt's class, 13B, who built a 74cm tower! Well done!

Christmas Jumper Day 2017

We are approaching the most magical time of the year – fairy lights and baubles, snowmen and Christmas trees.

On 14th December, we want to see it all – on YOUR jumper!

Senior School Council Training

Members of our Senior School Council received training from Isobel Brennan from Concern Worldwide this morning. Isobel outlined the global work of Concern Worldwide, in helping some of the world's poorest countries during crises.


Pupils look forward to supporting and working alongside Concern Worldwide during the remainder of this academic year.

Olympic Freestyle Wrestling

On Saturday past, Ben, Dominic and Sam  took part in an international Olympic freestyle wrestling tournament in Wigan, England.

The results were as follows:

Gold - Ben  (Senior Event)

Silver - Dominic  + Sam 

Each athlete had tough opponents and Ben defeated the senior European Combat Wrestling Champion on the way to the podium (see above)
