Shakespeare Schools Festival

Congratulations to all pupils involved in our Shakespeare Schools Festival performance.  Twelfth Night was a fantastic success and was given an excellent appraisal by the Shakespeare Schools Festival team.

Mrs. Johnston and Mrs. Knox are very proud of all cast members and wish to thank all parents, teachers and pupils who were at the Waterside Theatre for their support on Monday night.

Desmond Bell’s film, originally commissioned by Channel 4 TV, tells the story of a group of Protestant pupils from Foyle and Londonderry College who explore the complex history of Frederick Hervey, the Earl Bishop of Derry and eighteenth century champion of Catholic Emancipation. Elements of the film were shot in the Masonic Hall which originally was Hervey's palace as Bishop of Derry.

CREATIVE LIASONS BETWEEN ARTISTS AND SCHOOLS

As part of our City of Culture year artists were invited to visit and work alongside local students. Kate Newman a creative writer/artist worked with some of our senior school students to creatively combine text and photography. This work along with others from various local schools was displayed at the London Street Gallery during October

 

 

Survey Access to Technology

 

I would like to invite ourstudents to take part in a survey by  GCSEPod, which is designed to take a snap shot of mobile technology used by 14-16 year olds in Northern Ireland.

The intention is simple: to explore what access to technology students studying for their GCSEs currently have, and how they perceive how it might help their studies now and in the future.
