Citizenship Foundation Bar Mock Trial

A team of fifteen year 12 and 13 pupils took part in the Citizenship Foundation Bar Mock Trial competition on Saturday 22nd November in the High Courts in Belfast.  This is a prestigious competition and sixteen schools from around Northern Ireland took part.  We were very grateful to receive support in our preparations, from our barrister mentor, Mr Ciaran Roddy.

Foyle faced stiff opposition from Coleraine High School, Victoria College and Our Lady and St. Patrick’s College in their three rounds.  Foyle won two out of three of their cases and were very evenly matched against Coleraine High School who ended up progressing to the final.

The team are to be commended for their hard work and dedication in preparing both cases to such a high standard.  As all of the pupils in the team will still be with us next year, and are now experienced in the competition, the future looks bright for Bar Mock in Foyle College!

Well done everyone!
