Science Week 2016

Year 8 Science focus week took place after half term with all Year 8 involved in a variety of activities to highlight the relevance of Science outside the classroom and to the world of work in our local community- ‘World of Owls’ from Randalstown visited the school for an informative and really exciting presentation highlighting the variety of life with an amazing animal roadshow.

Pupils visited Invista to find out more about Lycra production, visited the Lough’s Agency to hear about the conservation work locally and others built robots, made rockets or watched a gruesome rat dissection. A sports Science themed workshop measured lung capacity and investigated exercise while the chemistry department held a couple of fun workshops. STEM Aware helped us out during our STEM club building and investigating the motion of toothbrush head robots!- please click to the gallery for the photos from each of the workshops during the busy week.
