Pupils begin their study of French in Year 8 and at Key Stage 3 cover a variety of topics such as general greetings, hobbies and interests and the Francophone world. As language teachers, our priority is to make our teaching relevant to our pupils and to stimulate enjoyment and engagement with the subject.
In 2011 Year 10 pupils completed Entry Level 3 in the CCEA Online Language Assessment in French which gave them a European recognised qualification before their journey into Key Stage 4.
There are school interim examinations in November of the winter term and at the end of the summer term. Pupils are assessed in listening comprehension, speaking, reading comprehension and writing.
