KS3

Pupils begin their study of French in Year 8 and at Key Stage 3 cover a variety of topics such as general greetings, family life, hobbies and interests, school, the Francophone world and past and future holidays.  As language teachers, our priority is to make our teaching relevant to our pupils and to stimulate enjoyment and engagement with the subject, as well as sustainable progressions in their language skills.

Years 8-10
There are Common Assessment tasks conducted regularly throughout the school year, as well as school interim examinations at the end of the summer term.  Pupils are assessed in listening and reading comprehension, speaking, translation and writing.
