The Lyric Theatre, in conjunction with the Department of Justice NI, presented ‘Blackout’ to our Year 12 pupils this afternoon.

Written by Davey Anderson, the play tells the story of James, a young man from a dysfunctional family. The death of his grandfather results in James’ dabbling in drugs and alcohol – a path which leads him to court and a possible custodial sentence.

With an atmospheric soundtrack by Chris Warner and physical theatre sequences, this high-energy production was followed by a Q&A with a panel of young people with first-hand experience of custody and the judicial system.

A truly moving, hard-hitting production that will leave a lasting impression upon our pupils.
