Sage @ School Instant Accounts

Throughout the course of the Autumn and Spring term, twelve AS Level Business Studies pupils enrolled on a Sage @ School Instant Accounts course.  The on-line course gave pupils the opportunity to build skills, knowledge and competencies in the use of the Sage Accounts programme, which is widely used by accountants.  The Year 13 pupils entered both Book 1 and 2 exams which covered nominal, sales and purchases ledgers, VAT returns, bank reconciliation and the recording of customer and supplier invoices and credit notes.  In Book 2, Christian Catterson, Andrew McElhatton, Jason McFaul Aran Muttu achieved Distinctions, with scores of over 90%.

Congratulations to all those pupils who sacrificed two Private Study periods each Wednesday morning to attend this enrichment class.

Junior Rugby Tour

On Tuesday the 12th of March, the U14 rugby team left for Edinburgh for our annual rugby tour guided by Mr Barnett, Mr Stewart, Mr Funston and Mr Orr. We were all very excited and were looking forward to playing our matches. We had 3 fixtures organised, George Watson College, The High School of Glasgow and Edinburgh High School. As well as our rugby matches we had lots of other activities to look forward to.

On Tuesday 19th March we were very privileged to have a French Theatre Company in school, who performed for our pupils in Yrs 9 and 11. Their performance was called Le Bon Roi and, to the great delight of the audience, some of our very own talented linguists had starring roles in the production, too! A wonderful learning experience, which was thoroughly enjoyed by all!
