Year 10 pupils took on the role of budding entrepreneurs today during their Young Enterprise Project Business Seminar. Thanks to Diane Marshall (YE Trainer) who helped to bring the world of enterprise to life and the Lower and Upper Sixth pupils who acted as mentors.
Year 10 pupils enjoyed a Young Enterprise ‘Food and Drink Industry Masterclass’ on Thursday. They designed and presented a range of innovative products suitable for the food industry. We were delighted to have former pupil, Mr James Huey, and his colleagues from Walled City Brewery on the judging panel.
Foyle was delighted to again host the annual Tyndall Schools' Physics Lecture, sponsored by the Institute of Physics in Ireland. Dr Liz Conlon delivered her presentation titled the 'ABC of the Universe' to visiting schools from our city and Donegal, as well as our own Foyle physicists. STEM Exploration funding has enabled a STEM led project to be initiated with Yr13 Life & Health Science students and Biology students with C-TRIC STEM ambassador Coral Lapsley acting as our STEM ambassador. The group had their first gene technology workshop this week over at Altnagelvin hospital and with further funding it is hoped this project can develop further.
