Foyle Hospice Run

A selection of girls from Foyle College who raised £516 for the Foyle Hospice when they completed the recent Female Walk/Run. Included is their teacher Miss Barr.

Foyle Hospice provides ongoing palliative care services for patients with cancer and other life limiting illnesses while supporting their families and loved ones in the North West of Northern Ireland.  Our commitment is to improve the quality of life of patients while extending care and support to their families and loved ones.

Drama Year 11

Year 11 Drama students staged a dress rehearsal of 'Bottom of the Bottle' on Friday, 19th June. 

The play is inspired by issues teenagers are faced with in our modern society, exploring the themes of family life, addiction and peer pressure.

Each of the pupils contributed to the scriptwriting process and have spent the past few months auditioning for roles, learning their lines, exploring rehearsal techniques and staging the production.
 

 

Sportsday Video

Year 9 pupils Molly Gallagher and Peter Hunter took a camera into the skies above Sportsday to capture the event from angles never seen before. Our DJI Phantom drone was quite a spectacle as it hovered and swooped over the track with its gimbal mounted camera following the action. Thanks to Molly and Peter for the footage and they did really well to master the controls after a brief training session the day before. Pictures can be viewed by clicking here

Sci-Fest 2015

Congratulations to the three Yr9 groups who brought their Scifest projects across to St Mary’s on Friday 12 June. Yr8 STEM club pupils also came along attending a ‘magnetic attractions’ workshop and getting the opportunity to be inspired for next year!.

A science of magic show was also entertaining in the afternoon session. A special congratulations to Yr9 pupils Michael Downey, Jessica Crawford & Molly Gallagher who won  the ‘Maths in Science’ STEM Award for their project investigating entitled ’Brain Training with exercise’.
